Engine Help ASAP!!!!
ok..so i was driving my 2002 ex tonight and it was choking everyonce in awhile...meaning i was driving down the road and every so often it felt like someone hit the brake pedal real quick...then later in the night, my check engine light came on and i could only go like 30mph and my car back fired a bunch of times. I relize that my problem is probably a fuel system problem. Do u guys think it is just a clogged fuel filter, or a more serious problem? Let me know ASAP what u think...thanks...

-throttle body heater bypass (put it back to stock)
-plugs
-idle air control valve (test by removing intake and plug the port on the left with your finger to make sure the idle drops and stalls).
-loose or corroded ground connections
-dirty throttle body (remove intake and clean with a cloth and TB spray cleaner around the sides and inside the valve, then spray on the valve hinges and let dry).
-check air filter
-make sure there are no kinks in the breather hose
-bad gas??
-clogged injectors (use www.lubecontrol.com products)
-too much carbon buildup (see above solution)
-incorrect plug torque (should be 13 ft/lbs with torque wrench)
-leaky exhaust gaskets
-short in an electrical wire
-fuel pressure too low (replace fuel pump)
-fuel filter is possible, but they go for 100k miles +
-bad oxygen sensor (they last 60k miles) would explain backfires
but we don't know which ones until you read the CEL!

yeah they have a rental system for there parts. you buy it, and when your done you bring it back and they give you a refund. lol. it sounds stupid but its cool cause you can use the stuff for free. go in there and tell them your car threw a code and you need a code reader. they will help you out. if you can't afford it ask if its covered under the rental thing.

Ok, so i got my car back from Honda on Thursday night, and the deal was that my idle pulley (i think) was frozen. They found that out when they went into the right side of my engine. So they fixed that and gave me a new timing belt, car runs great now. The best part is that it was FREE and my car isn't even under warrenty already. So, thanks to all that were trying to help me.
