broken cup holder

broken cup holder like a week ago i brought my car in to get it aligned and when i got it back the cupholder was not functioning and i found a spring sitting in the bottom of one of them.....
so if you don't know what i'm talking about, on my 98 lx, the cup holder has a cover that you push down and it stays closed, then when you push it again it opens (spring loaded)
i've searched everywhere on the internet, my owners manual and my repair manual and i've found absolutley nothing
some people have said i have ocd....and this broken cup holder is really bothering me....so if anyone has ran into this problem and has figured out how to fix, please enlighten me
