best way to reduce exhaust vibrations?
well lately ive been gettin really annoyed by my exhaust vibrating against my floor around the shifter area so ive decided to do something about it. im not plannin on goin to an exhaust shop and have them make me longer hangers so i want something that will atleast help this for quite a while. ive been thinking of gettin some exhaust wraps or some kind of thermal wraps to wrap around the exhaust pipping to pad it. would that help or should i do something else? plz any suggestions are welcome and if this has been covered plz dont flame me about it just post the link to the thread that has been created. i really dont feel like buying $44 worth of exhaust wrap and do me no good. here are some links of wat im talking about:

i'll prolly be joining the club today when mine gets installed. I got some thermotec, but its a baby roll. I might try and see if I can feel where its hitting. Check the sway bar area first cause it can be touching that in the back and sound like its coming from the front.

The pipe is really close to the body in taht area right after the Cat. There is no way to lower it. The closeness that pipe is to the body is totally dependant on the bends on the exhaust.
My stock exhaust even vibrated, but mostly in the rain. My new Espelir exhaust also vibrates in the same area in the rain. I really dont think there is anyway around it besides possible a wrap to dampen the sound and protect the pipe from changing temperature too fast.
ALso i seem to notice that it vibrates sometimes when my silencer is on.

What kind of exhaust do ya'll have? I have a GReddy Evo2 and I had the same shakes (and all the same symptoms) and when it rained it got worse. So I took it to a local tunning shop and they fixed it. They said it was hitting the heat shield. So they took a crowbar and bent a couple of things (near the cat) and its perfect now. Good luck with ya'll.

i have an rs*r ex mag exhaust w/ random tech cat and it is gettin really really annoying but i think the thing is that some of the bolts came loose so its vibrating even more so...thats one step im gonna take. my friend says i should get some longer rubber gromet things that are on the hangers off the car. would that help this situation or no good?

Im assuming they just bent the downpipe and the cat so that the cat and pipe right after the cat (shown in my pics) are all lower. Im not sure how good that is for the car?

All you guys should try this, it wirked for me, or atleast helped a bit.
Jack the car up in both front and rear, and loosen the bolts that connect the mid pipe to the front downpipe, and also the rear bolts that connect the rear section. Once that is done, grab the midpipe and twist it or pull it down, away from the body. Most of the ratteling you hear is from the mid pipe when it crosses from inside the frame to the outside and goes under the frame rail. If you are able to make alittle more room between the frame and exhaust, it should be alittle better. If not there is nothing else you can do other then lengthning the hangers. This took away quite a bit of rattle for me. Just putting in my 2 cents. PEACE

uhm wouldnt twisting it or pullin down on it cause a leakin the system cause from wat u said that would leave gaps between the downpipe and the rear section. not sure if thats exactly wat u mean but thast wat im picturing

well yea as long as you can get under the car, its just loosening bolts and putting the new pipes on. only problem is if the bolts are rusty. get some pb blast.
