Rep Power: 0 umm...don't use all caps because you definitely won't get a nice response from people here. you should be able to move past 100 MPH. There have been people hitting 120-130 on the site. maybe your car is just messed up. stop typing in caps and maybe it will speed up a little.

Rep Power: 0 upgrade your ECU.... that usually does it.
I think the V-AFC works too... just make it so your fuel doesnt cut off at those higher speeds. But serisously dont drive that fast. Some kid I work with brags that his 95 Escort LX(AUTO) can beat me in a race cuz he has a "chip" and can hit 140. lol his speedo goes to 85 lmao!!!

Rep Power: 0 no need to dis people you don't know. i know my driving skills are really good. not the best, but really good. i don't rub it in people's faces like you. if your car can't go over 100, there's something wrong with your ecu, or you're not shifting or allowing the car to shift. i know it's bad for the car, but i've gotten to 100 in third in my ex auto, maxed out at 135. i didn't mind the caps so much in the first message, but all the little smily faces scared me.

Rep Power: 0 eh I'm used to getting fussed at by the newbies here ....been here for 10 months...hehe. The fuel gets cut off around 127 mph...thats where mine did, it was on a road trip to San Antonio and I-10 was kinda empty. Never agian though...it was really stupid. Oh and hose2k1...before you think about talking crap to me...educate yourself a little bit so you don't like like a complete dumbass. Newbies

Rep Power: 0 im not hatin on anyone, but just out of curiosity, BELLE said that he can hit like 115mph or somethin with his EX AUTO in 3rd gear.....now, correct me if im wrong, but an Auto tranny AUTOMATICALLY switches gears at designated speeds or rpms.... it switches into atleast 4th WAY BEFORE 115mph, and to further my question, how the hell would he know what gear it is at 115mph with an AUTOMATIC tranny?!?!?

Rep Power: 0 Here's how:
Put the selector in "2" the trans will stay in 2 until you upshift.
Put the selector in "3" the car will not shift above 3 until you upshif.
Getting the idea?
My EX automatic will run almost as fast in 3 as it will in 4. That's because there just ain't enough horses to pull it in 4 overdrive gear.

Rep Power: 0 i don't think hose2k1 got chewed out enough for excessive caps yet. and that's not only the beginning...
i've only been a member here for a few days, and i'm already sick of the newbies!
EVERYONE PLEASE READ:
if you're going to write ANYTHING in a message board, you're going to get a response. many responses, most likely. and as a common courtesy to the rest of us who are going to take the time to read, and maybe even reply to your posts, LEARN HOW TO SPELL! an error here and there is okay; but frequent and ignorant errors are an INSULT to the rest of us. always turn *OFF* the $#%@ing CAPS! unless, of course, you're a bit FRUSTRATED with something!
and last, but not least, this is MY response to the original "question":
(heard this one? - a computer tech answers a call from a new computer customer, complaining that his screen went blank. the tech advises the user to move his mouse, tap a few keys on the keyboard, adjust the brightness/contrast on the monitor; yet nothing works. the tech asks, "well what happened before the screen went blank?" the user says that he was just typing a letter and suddenly -- bam! everything disappeared. after another 5 minutes of unsuccessful remedies, the tech tells the user to flip the computer's power switch. nothing, it's just dead. stumped, the tech finally tells the user to check the power cables. the user crawls under the desk, and explains that he can't see anything. "can't you turn on a light?" the tech asks. "no", the user responds. "the power went out a few minutes ago!"
"oh boy", the tech says, "this is really bad". "how bad is it?" asks the user. "do you still have the boxes that your computer came in?" "sure do", replies the user. "good, because you're going to need to pack everything back up, return it to the store, and tell them you're too f***ing stupid to own a computer!")
okay, see where i'm going with this? maybe it's a little bit different situation... you know.. sure, the car is SUPPOSED to go more than 100 mph... did you try shifting in to 5th? lol... still rolling on those stock 14s? concrete highway? blacktop? wet? dry? what was the weather like, windy? humid? THE POINT IS that there are a MILLION things (literally) that are a factor in top speed. even something like a big-*** 2002 chevy silverado with the engine that's what, 3x bigger than the civic's? top speed is DRAG limited to 100mph. sure, all that power, but the damn thing's huge tires and boxy body slow it down... and that's under optimal conditions.
another tip: take all the drugs out of the trunk when you want to go fast, they only slow you down. plus, then you won't have to be trying to outrun anyone (hmm.. police?) anymore.
wait! i almost forgot! moral of the story: go return your civic to the dealer (or poor chap that you stole it from), and tell them you're too stupid to OWN one. clearly displaying evidence that you lack ANY education (especially in grammar, morals, responsibility...) is a disgrace to everyone here... well, i can't put words in anyones' mouths, but you're a disgrace to me.
anyone with these so-called "driving skills" KNOWS that 100mph on public roads is obnoxiously irresponsible... and you would also know that you keep your mouth tightly shut, should it REALLY upset those of us who have respect for others' lives on the roads.
-------
think about somebody other than yourself... or get the hell off our roads.

Rep Power: 0 There's either some speedometer variation or in the limiter settings.
If you buy a performance car that comes from the factory with Z rated tires, the car will not have a limiter. It's all based on the speed capability of the OE tires.
If you export a car to Europe, you have to have tires on the car that will meet the speed capability of the car. Some of this tire speed rating stuff has filtered into the US. It's a matter of liability for the car company.
