Tech Chat and DIY's Forum Rules: Please Read Before Posting!!!

1. Before you start a new thread, please use the SEARCH button located in the upper right hand corner of the page to make sure there is not another thread (or 10 million other threads) about your issue. I have seen too many of the same threads posted lately and it needs to stop. If I see a new thread started and one has already been posted about the same thing, it will be closed. No questions asked.

2. Please use the appropriate forum for the questions or comments you have. If you are trying to sell or buy something, dont post it in the tech section. There are forums for everything, please use them.

These are 2 simple rules I ask of everyone to please follow. If you have any other questions or comments please feel free to post them.

if drama starts to get out of hand in a thread, but the actual thread is on a good subject and it should be discussed, how would the drama be stopped in a fair way?

there should be no drama in the tech forums in the first place. We have the off topic forum for that kinds of stuff and even then the mods in that forum usually wont allow drama to continue. But again, it all depends on what it is and the situation. What usually happens is if the drama is between a couple people, but the thread is good, the convos between the 2 people will be deleted and both people warned and the thread will be allowed to go on. Now if there is too much drama between everyone, I am pretty sure the thread will be closed.

Now if there is a thread here about a tech issue and drama starts or arguments, the same thing will happen.

I would like to add once again, please DO NOT keep starting threads on issues that have been discussed before. I have been closing several threads lately because of questions asked that have been covered many times before. This especially is geared towards the new people. Please use the search button before you post. This site has been around since the beginning of 2001, so pretty much everything you can think of has been covered before. Also please DO NOT bring back threads from several years ago. I have seen a few of these threads pop back up that were started in 2002 or 2003. Depending on what the thread is about depends on whether a new thread should be started. If you have a comment about what someone in the thread said, save it, but if you need help, search around other threads before making a new one.
