jdm d17a2 is the same as the usdm d17a2. it is just out of the fiero civic. the only diffrence is taht there is a marking on the block behind the header towards the bottom of the block, as well as in the same on the usdm engines. and the wirign harness is a little driffrent well basically backwards becasue the computer is located on the other side of the car from ours. i actually have one and there is no diffrence no one believes me but if yo ucheck alljapaneseengines.com(sp) that is where i got mine from because i bought my car for $5000 with 846 miles on it because the previous owenr hydrolocked the engine. they are a good company if you need an engine my crew has ordered a few engines from them they have really good deals on complete type-r swaps for older model cars. man i shoudl ahve gone wth an older civic i loev the b-series.

Rep Power: 380 oh yeah btw befroe anybody says bs again please read up on japanese emission laws along with some of their otehr car policies there are a ton of engines in perfectly good cars but due to teh superstrict rules and regulations there are a ton of perfectly good cars getting junked and new engines, which means that US companies can buy engines in bulk and sell them for a nice prophit it jsut takes about 2 months to get a bulk shipment of the engines over.
