Pics of DIY lower grill after cutting out the black crap

Here's some pics of the lower grill RallyEX and I made last night for his car. We cut out the all the black stuff and fit the grill behind. It turned out great. We still need to trim the bumper and paint the grill but that stuff will come soon. The pics aren't the best but it was dark.

That looks really good man- what did you use to cut it out with? What color are you planning on painting it? I think it looks fine like it is.

We used a jigsaw to make the first cuts to get rid of most of the black crap. Then we went through with a dremel and smoothed it out. We still need to do some smoothing but we were running out of time. I'm not sure what color rallyEX is going to paint it probably silver to match my rims he is buying. It will be painted by my body man so there wont be a problem with fading. We are going to make a DIY as soon as it's all finished. We have pics of the steps so far. The only times we cussed is when the jigsaw blade broke, the batt. went dead in the digi cam and when we ran out of beer! I think it took about 3 hrs. but we screwed around alot talking about fiberglassing some more tv's in our cars.

RallyEX bought the grill at a sheet metal place in our area. Its exactly the same as what Wings West uses in there front bumpers.

I would redo it with out the black crap. It looks so much better and the bumper is just as strong with out it.

I'm working on the DIY right now, kinda. The grille is now officially finished until my wings west stuff gets painted, then we will do a little glueing and stuff so it will look uniform.

It really doesn't need painted, however to prevent oxidation and stuff, we will do something with it, dunno what yet though.

Thanks to Greg again for all his help, he's great with DIY stuff and is fun to work with... if you are drunk.
Anywho, he helped alot with this and did a great job. The car is coming along.

Now on to our next project, custom center console!

You name it and we've probably thought of it. I know it will be relocated cup holders and a TV but other than that we dont know,
we might mold the center console to the dash and make it all smooth. We really need to sit down and make some sketches and see what we can do. Whatever we do it will be badass
