engine knocking???

any1 know what that is? im pretty sure its bad but how bad is it?
i was lookin at a 3000gt and thats what it said on the sign.

its called a rod knock... If you drive it like that you have a good chance you'll spin a bearing and mess up the engine pretty bad. THe engine can be fixed... but it would be cheaper to buy a replacement engine.

if there is a knocking you might be using the wrong gasoline, try higher octane.

well if he is referring to knocking, as in detonation/pinging/knocking, then higher octane gas could solve the problem.

the sign said "engine knock" but yeah getting a replace ment will b cheaper w/ all the other crap that is wrong w/it

Or turn the boost down instead of upping the octane of the gas. Hopefully the pinging hasn't damaged anything.

dsms are usually driven by people thinking their in fastnfurious, so engine knocking is a def. with most dsm's... but dsm motors can be rebuilt for around 900-1200 in NY over here... so if its for a low price i wouldnt let it go to waste.. dsms still retail for around 6g's and up used (gst/vr6/gsx/sl)
