turbo 2002 civic ex?

I'm planning to put together a custom turbo system for my 2k2 civic ex. Since the great manufacturers won't do it, I guess I better do it myself, plus it's more fun that way. So I have a question for anyone with turbo experience...Can I use the short header in the 7th gen civic as a manifold for the Turbo? I'm planning a T3, maybe a T3/T4 hybrid, with no intercooler quite yet, but probably one next year. I figure a decent exhaust shop could put together a manifold for me, but I'm kind of new at the whold turbo scene, so I'm not sure. Plus even if they can, it's not too common in Michigan (where I live) so I don't know if they'll try to rape me in the process. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Nitrous Oxide is cooler, the only thing is that is limited and you have to open the damn bottle in the trunk!

I hope you have some plan of getting around Honda's 'RETURNLESS' fuel system architecture. Which btw, is the sole reason no-one has come out with a turbo for our cars yet.

you will have to run an intercooler, the compresion is to high not to and you risk detonation of timing and losing your engine.

Guys check out Ripp Modifications in Staten Island. The owner is a great guy...He is the best around at designing custom stuff. The current project car is a third generation Eclipse that puts out over 300 hp without nitrious

Wasn't there a 2k1 Civic with a turbo at SEMA? There was a pic of it somehwere on this forum...

So it would be possible... passing emissions is another topic unto itself...

Is it possible to have an intercooler mounted underneath the car?

Umm... Good luck. Here's a good equation that you need to think about

Air+Fuel=Power

Turbo Civic

More Air+(stock)Fuel=Lean Mixture causing severe engine damage

If you think you can overcome the stock returnless fuel system, then give HKS a call and let them know how to do it to, while your at it, call every single turbo manufacture and tell them too. You'll only be able to get 30 Horse off the stock fuel system, and still be running lean at that.

Intercooler underneath the car=possible, just extremely unpractical!

How does a returnless fuel system work as opposed to the fuel system that is found in the 6th gen?

Just like it sounds...the 6th gens excess fuel that wasn't needed "returned" to the gas tank- thats why the gas gauge kept going up and down. The 7th gen is one way, to the engine.

The fuel problems can be fixed. Depends on money. you can take any car and do anything with it. All you need is money and imagination.

I just finished reading an article in a magazine and a 2000 toyota celica which also happens to have a returnless fuel system , got a custom job done and turbo charged it !

anything is possible, just depends on who you know and your cash flow!

Really, wow. Which one? *sarcasm* Seriously I have seen two FI Celicas, both with the stock RFS. XS has designed a kit, but for some reason it hasn't been released.
