What are you talking about like you blew one up and put a new one in? Yes it does. You have to get the imobilizer flashed to accept the key so you can start it.

god this new guy only give parcial adive and half of its bad......
IF. its the ECU for our 01,02,03 civic. then you must take it to the dealer to have your ECU Accept your Key. (imobilizer). other than that no.... if its for a k20 engine... hondata ecu is recomended. but also needs reflashing for the Imobilizer
