what's to be expected from a turbo?

Anyone have an idea of the amount of gain the 2k1's will get from turbo's?? I'm planning to go for a 6psi boost if/when they actually come out, but I was wondering if anyone had a guess of how much this would shave off of 0-60 and 1/4mile times?

Neo....

<< Also the prototype Turbo from HKS is on an EX >>

do you have any stats from this prototype or havnt any been released?... thanks, lata

I bought a turbo for my car straight from Japan. Can't remember what model it was. After I got it I found out that with any turbo you need like a ton of stuff to keep your engine running with it, so your car can handle the extra hp. Over $4000 in parts I need. So maybe I'll sell it now, for around $500?

Turbo is the hardest to install and to maintain...........
where's out a lot of ur stock parts.......... so if u gonna go for
turbo than u need to change almost everything...........
even the nuts that are holding ur intake hahhahahaha.................maybe

But i would pay and do all those things to get a fast *** civic that can hang with the
factory turbo cars.....

With turbo you are generally looking at an 80-100+hp gain. As for the HKS, no stats have been provided. Couldnt tell ya

Or get Nitrous=======cheaper
I personally think is better, you won't mess nothing up as long as you use a 50 shot, and,,,,, if you want more, just upgrade your car so it can hande 75!

In the long run, nitrous is a waste of money. At $3-$5 a lb, think about how much nitrous you will go through. With a turbo, you can buy all your parts, install it, and it'll last a while. What I would recommend though (if you have the money), ignition upgrades, AEM EMS, new fuel system, sleeve the block and new rods, pistons, and run 10-15PSI. And of course, you will need a whole new exhaust system (unless you already have aftermarket - may or may not work).

Talk has been going around that the HKS will produce 60-80 at the wheels.

This is not true... If you stay under 10 lbs of boost, you will not to replace any of the stock parts.
Whoever told you this is not being truthful with you. You should do some research on turbo
applications and their effects to motors at different lbs. of boost before you post.
