When does VTEC work?

On a 2004 civic, EM2194M, canadian si coupe (american EX coupe), when does Vtec start to do its thing? I hear 4000 RPM, I hear 5000 RPM.. someone give me a solid answer. Should I feel it too?

Hi fellow,

here is the link for my car dyno test 2003 Acura EL, manual.

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=215515

It should answer your question, since eyes digest info faster..

The Vtec is not very "visible" in our cars. To me, it looks as it just flattens the TQ curve.

It works when you hit the search button.

This has been discussed many times.

that because ar 4-5k rpm is the peak of our powerband. The pull you feel is the engine hitting its maximum power band not the vtec. The vtec activated at 2800-3000rpm.

I would think 2200 rpms ... probably works the same way as the k20a3's vtec

vtec on d17a2 is at 2500 full throttle and 3000 at any other time. for better mileage not better power. misconception. and there is no vtec button. and wiring the LED light could take some time to make it ENGAGE. search first.

why would it takes time to make it engage? if the solenoid enages, the led will be lite via a relay. note, the relay coil only need ~200mA, a very lil current.
