Ipod to Factory Radio Without Adapter
Ipod to Factory Radio Without Adapter
I couldn't figure out how to post it HTML so I've included the PDF's. Basically I just tapped into the audio (L&R) signals that come from my CD player into the radio, thereby fooling the factory radio into playing the sound coming from my Ipod while a CD is playing. I was lucky that my CD player and the radio are two separate units in my Civic DX 2002; otherwise I couldn’t have done this, although I believe this same concept can be applied to a CD changer coming into the factory radio. Anyway, it worked and sounds awesome, and hopefully my guide can help a few people get inspired.

That's pretty clever. I did basically the same thing with my trunk mount changer.
Works great if you are playing a cd. Somebody actually did this INSIDE a stock CD radio by tapping the traces on the circuit board and adding a switch and rca jacks. Though the Blitzsafe adaptor works perfectly fine as well, but it costs money.

So it can be done with a CD Changer, I knew it!! Any pics? The circuit board thing, now that's another story. By the way, here's the Radio Shack switch I used:

there is one part of the DIY I didnt quite understand. did you say you connnected the left and right channels together? does this mean you get mono sound now from both the cd player and your I-pod?
