What miles is it best to change ur oil at?
I was just wondering at what miles are other people changing their oil at. I just got my Civic in November and the manual says 10,000. I'm only at 2,500 but everybody is telling me to do it at 3,000. I'm confused, what's best?

i don't know of anyone going 10k. 3-5k depending on the type of driving you do.

i accidently put 10w-40 oil today hahahahaha.............
i need to drain it and put 5w-20 oil tomorrow [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/IMG]
anotehr 7 bucks down the drain.......... sigh

Go by the manual, especially if you use synthetic or synthetic blend.

like they said, if you are using crude, raw oil, 3k...if you use synthetic blend 5k...if you use completely synthetic (my choice) you can get at least 8k, just don't forget to check your level at least bi-weekly...and if you are scared just change it every 3, but come on, we own honda's...

I do mine every 5K. The oil is hardly dark yet. I have had only 1 change.

I am a Honda Tech and I change oil on these things everyday. We chage at every 5K. Honda has put tons of money into research so they know when you are supposed to change it.

i do it every 3k, if i had the money, or if oil changes were cheaper, i would do it every month

3-5 for me
but i try to do it every 3 or 4 i have had my car for 15K miles and changed the oil out 4 times

my dealer told me that there was an additive honda puts in our cars when they are first put out there and u don't change first till 7500 then every 3000
