Projector TYC HID problem

I have read up on fitting the HID bulbs. I attempted to install my 6k HID last night and didn't know the wires were backwards when connecting to the ballast. I have not check my fuses as of yet but when I attempted to install the ballast and bulb I hooked the wires up with the low beam on. The bulb flickered and that was it. I tested the HID bulb several times which tested fine and I finally gave up (had to go to work). The problem now is when I hook the halogen h1 up it glows instead of lighting up correctly. I checked this bulb and it lights up fine when tested at the battery. I also noticed that the high beams also glow when the halogen light is in-place. For some reason now the drivers side lights work fine but neither of my lights on the pasenger side will light up correctly. The blinker and parking light work fine but both high beams glow along with the passenger side light low beam when all the wires are connected. Does anyone have any suggestion as to what happened? Do the lights have seperate fuses? Just curious if anyone has had this trouble before.

Sounds like a bad ground. That'll usually make the lights just glow. Hopefully you didn't fry the switch itself.

If I fried the switch where would I locate it at? I don't have a manual as of yet to tell help me out. The driver side light works fine, even hooked up with my HID light. It is only the passenger side light that is haveing problems. I did replace the fuse with a larger 30a fuse but still no luck. Also in regards to the switch, does each light have its own individual switch?

do NOT replace your 15a fuses with 30a. that will do NOTHING except harm the vehicle.

as for what could be wrong - you might have melted a wire or two. go to honda asap.

If you get a short, and have a 30 amp fuse in a circuit designed for 15 amp, the THIN wires will overheat and start a fire. The wires in the civic are JUST big enough to do the job. It saves them money, and is lighter. DO NOT EVER use bigger fuses unless you want to risk burning your car to the ground.

im not a total expert on lighting but when i was hooking diff halogen bulbs in my old car they did the same thing just glow and nothing else. couldnt figure it out until i look at the plug themselves and noticed that the needles were bent sort of so they werent goin in. after positioning them bak to place the bulbs lit up like normal. that might b problem for you but i cant say its 50% true.

Thanks crazy. In reference to the fuse, I placed the fuse in after I had the problems to see if it was a load issue, I realize the purpose of setting the fuse amps for safety purposes. I appreciate your concerns and understand that I am not a complete moron.

I tested the wires and somehow they keep indicating power that is reversed from the other plug. I ended up running new wire from inside out to the light and everything works perfect now. This was some wierd wild stuff.....
