i lost power from my evo 2 exhaust!help!

i just installed my evo 2 exhaust 2 weeks ago. and lately i felt that it wasn't the same anymore it looks like i lost my power and torque. acceleration got worst. i had my buddy drive my car and ask him if he notice any difference from it. and he said it got slow too... he was telling me it might be because the evo 2 had a large diameter piping and i dont have back pressure anymore.
but i dont know. anyone of you guys experience this? what could be the problem!

get a header and everything should be better. cam ... even better.

there are two versions of the greddy evo(2) ... there's a Jspec version and a US Spec version. The JSpec version does not have the bottleneck that a lot of exhausts are known for and it also has larger piping on the axleback. The US spec version has "US Spec" label on the bottom of the huge muffler ... I don't think the JSpec version has anything labeled

sounds very strange, but it's true ... if you don't believe me, Drivetofast and ThsUserNmisDumb can both vouch for me, for they have seen it.

Getting a header will only make this problem worse. You lost all of your torque - your friend is right, you need backpressure. Adding a header will only increase flow further, resulting in even less backpressure. They only way you can expect to get your power back is to return the OEM system, or get something that was engineered to provide something other than ricerific good looks and fart noises.

yeah, a 2.25 is best for stock, 2.5 for slightly modded. 2.5 crush bent is fine, cuz thats about 2.25 anyways. I got a little improvement with my crush bent cheap exhaust over stock. I am happy with it. It sounds sweet as hell with the turbo too. i will be upgrading to a mandrel bent exhaust though.

exhaust only gives 1-2whp and usually ends up robbing torque. I would stay with stock unless your car is heavily modded. A kamikaze header on my car actually gave me noticable gains, but I have matching head ports. You don't need a header with bigger tubes than stock. All it does is slow down exhaust velocity.

You also need to consider that when increasing the flow on the exhaust you also need to increase the flow on the intake and add more fuel. On a car thats already super efficent as ours very small gains can be done with just modding only one side, intake or exhaust. It takes proper combination of whats going in and the proper flow of whats going out to make noticable gains

Civic_RedLine will become famous soon enough
I have turbo, the exhaust is nice, even before I had turbo that was first mod and I did notice a better free flow. You definately notice the gains on the highway.

kamikaze header is prolly the best header for civics, including the 7thgen. They are designed for mid-hi power and won't disappoint you. Just very expensive though.
