Spring Compressor Help!
Ok, I dont know wtf is up but its either me being retarded which it seems like or the spring compressors are retarded.
Today I decided to cahnge the shocks on my 92 Maxima beater cuz the front ones are so dead..... everything is going good, I mark the strut with tape to make sure everythign goes back all lined up, I take out the strut with the spring, compress the springs and pop the top mount off.
I got my new strut and put the spring on there but the spring isnt compressed enough and I couldnt reach the strut rod with the nut after I put the upper mount back on.
The spring compressors were maxed out so I couldnt compress it any more. I then figure that I should try to to entend the spring compressor and grab the spring higher up and lower so when I compress the spring all the way I can get it to be even shorter.
I compress the spring again and now its short enough for me to reach the rod with the nut with the upper mount on top...... BUT that fvckin spring compressor end (circled in red in the picture) is in the way of the upper mount where it makes contact with the spring.
The things circled in red are the spring compressor ends and the yellow circiled one is the whole spring compressor.
Basically, if I dont extend the spring compressor enough in the beggining I can reach the rod with the nut but if I do extend it enough to compress the spring more the spring compressor ends get in the way of the upper mount.
Any suggestion? I can take pics of the actual setup thats in my room if you dont understand what I'm saying.
