Need mod suggestions - not just bolt ons
Hey guys, I really want to do some stuff to my car that's more than just bolt ons. Let me know what you guys have done that you consider custom or original. Thanks a lot.

There isn't anything out but bold ons!!! unless you weld on a dual exhaust or something. Sorry dude but you have to do it if you want some power.

There's a ton of things. I'll post something interesting for you. Inspired by my original it's burrite's trunk shocks. He said he might do a DIY soon, but the pictures should be more than enough. All the hardware was bought at McMaster.com
Burrite's Trunk Shocks
This is a little picture of mine. Less complex than burrite's. Burrite's doesn't have trunk springs though. I use trunk springs and trunk shocks to generate the force I need.

<< Sorry I may just be a total moron but what do you need trunk shocks for??? >>
See my huge 6x9 speakers? That's what for. The trunk springs didn't clear that either, the ones in the picture are custom made. I had to take out the trunk springs, but then the trunk wouldn't stay open. I added the trunk springs and that helped, but it wasn't the complete solution. Then I made these trunk shocks. Now it opens by itself. That's another thing. You can have a remote trunk release and have your trunk open all the way for you with a push of a button.

By the way, when I said custom stuff, I didn't mean necessarily performance - interior, exterior, anything under the hood or in the trunk would all be the kinda stuff I'm looking for.

Part numbers? No, just go to www.mcmaster.com and look under: Power Transmition > Gas Springs and Shock Absorbers > Gas Springs (2) > Gas Springs with Threaded Ends
That's what I used and that's what burrite used. You'll have to read that page carefully and measure out your trunk and see which one would work for you. Measure carefully and don't forget to buy the safety clips. Ooh! Nevermind, they changed it since I bought it, now the safety pins are included with the ball sockets. Yay! Go to End Fittings for Gas Springs to see the various fitting you can get.
