Painting XM Satellite Antennas

Sorry, I didnt know what forum best described this question, figured the DIY for caliper painting was here so why not. anyways...

Im getting an xm satellite radio antenna, and I dont like the way the black antenna is gonna look on my car. I see all the bmw's have painted antennas,

My question to you is...

is it safe to spray paint my antenna? IM looking at getting the pioneer 90xm. I have some silver spray paint that looks close enough to ssm. Will this interfier with the satellite at all? I know people paint their regular dishes so im thinking it should be okay.

any opinions, what paint should i use?

I dont imagine that It would cause any problems, as long as you dont paint any part that might look like where it would transmit from, if its all black, I imagine you could.
