My friend called me up and asked me if i wanted to buy an 04 Ex motor. Full swap. Motor tranny...everything. It has 2k miles on it and i have 36k on my dx. He was asking $800. Would it even be worth the dime and a nickel of horsepower or keep saving for a k20. I have a cai on my sohc non-vtec... All recommendations appreciated.

isnt a k20 like 4000 plus install. Theres a big dif between 800 and 4g's...plus the k20 has no trans at that price. I say take it for 800 and then part it out you'll get more then you paid for it.

True say, $800 is a good deal, with labour a few hundred bucks more. but you could do internals and turbo it for the price of saving for the K20..

although i am in love with k series motors..$800 buck is a steal, 2k and tranny.

im not sure, but i think the lx turbos are just as fast if not faster than the Ex turbos.. dx/lx to ex is not a big improvement.... just get the k20
