Transmission swap?

I have an 01 EX with a 5 speed and as everyone knows the transmission sucks. I'm interested in swapping in a newer model transmission. What year did Honda fix the tranny problems?

make sure you DON'T try a K20 tranny...the K20s spin in the opposite direction!!!

Don't know the distance. but it's like 2 hours south. Down in sussex 30min. from salisbury.

03-04 is when they got most of the kinks out...

but i just got me an 04 tranny with 4k miles for 500shipped, don't pay anymore than 550shipped... you will always find a cheap one... just take your time... unless otherwise you needed one ASAP... check out www.car-part.com they have all the **** you need...

lol about deleware my sis lived in wilmington for a long time. Now just out of Malvern, PA but still I am not too far from you guys.
We should have a meet this summer...at like KOP mall or something easy to get to like that! Everyone in east PA/DE should know how to get there and the people near me in wilkes-barre/berwick if they dont could follow me.

Wilmington! (towards newark).. i used to see no hooked up 7thgens besides mine.. it seems there has been a hooked up 7thgen explosion around here

Yeah! I see 7th gens everywhere! Kinda annoying around here. All of them have euro tail lights and maybe wheels. All bling, no power.

I found a 2004 trans. with only 4K on it! And better yet, it's only 8 miles from my house. Problem is, they want $750. Does the low mileage and close proximity out weigh paying $450+shipping for a 2003 with close to 20k?

i'm rite over the pa/de line. i see alot of 7thgens, only i think one witha 7thgen badge tho. is there any other trans from another model civic that will work?, i read somewhere on here someone put a diff. trans in. just wondering what anyone knows about that. i'm down for a meet, i get my turbo this week and then i gotta get all the other sutff to complete my kit.

trade it in for a manual car.. or wait until you can get a full engine swap (k series)... Kind of a waste to swap to a 5 speed, especially since ur car is pretty much brand new. You could probably trade it straight up for a used 03-02 5 speed, but dealerships are always trying to screw you.
