DIY Color Dash Guages
yo guys im trying to do the DIY dash lighting that is normally red to green i did everything except the guages(speed,rpm,gas,and temperature) i cant get the needles off.... if anyone knows how to take the needles off of the guages please tell me its all i have the finish and its really bugging me!!!! thanks everyone!!!

That was in the FAQ that i read before and I tried pulling them off and it worked. Just pull straight out it's on a paper clip looking pin.
Just remember start your car and mark where all the needles are so you can put them back correctly...
I didn't mark it because I thought I could remember where to put them on. well I looked at them while the power was off and then put them back on w/ the power off and when I started the car it shot up to 20 MPH and the temp was halfway.
I has to wait till the next morning when the engine was cold to reset the temp and the spedometer and tachometer was done while ideling. Last I had to wait till the fuel light came on for a while before I could put the gas guage back on. That meant i drove w/ the guages disassembled for about 5 days cause i had jsut filled up the night before on the way home from work. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/IMG] but now I have the reverse indiglo guages in and it looks tight!!... $43 on ebay. I'll post a pic soon and i bet you'll like them!!

Rep Power: 0 put a rag around the gauges and carefully rub the under side of the needls with a qtip with mineral spirts on it.......good luck,,i seen it done but i don't trust my self.....i left the little ***** orange too so it would match the needles. it looks good

Rep Power: 0 This is what I got w/ the apc indiglo guage faces...hope it helps.
A. Important: these instructions need to followed for proper guage needle placement. Start vehicle & warm up the engine to running temperature. While the engine is running, take a piece of paper and note the position of each needle for each guage set that uses a needle in your dash. Save this piece of paper to refer to when you re-install the guage needles in step 3C below.
B. Remove all needles with needle puller or with a kitchen fork. Place SpeedGlo guages "Over" existing dash guages.
C. To Re-install your guages:
1. Temporarily reinstall your cluster by plugging the cluster back in.
2. Start your engine.
3. Refer to your sketch from step A above, and reinstall all needles in the proper location and proper reading to match your sketch. If you feel that your guage is not reading correctly, remove the needle and reinstall again until you are pleased with the readings.
4. Turn off the engine, remove cluster again and continue on.
