Good news!

Someone I know, a fellow 2k1 owner has a friend who works for Stillen. According to him the new civics have the same read brake setup as a 6th gen does. Thus makings a rear disk conversion with oem's possible. I'll be getting the car specs for both generations to review and see what will need to be done. I'll post whether it can be done without too much modification.

Stillen has apparently done it to a couple 2k1's, we'll see what happens.

I'll let you all know what we'll need, and if it will work on all trims...I'll include part numbers and hopefully diagrams. Just waiting on a friend from stillen to getthe spec sheets.

Are you saying that certain 6th gen civics have rear disc brakes? Or are you saying that our 7th gen civics can just buy the aftermarket rear disc brake conversion kits that are made for the 6th gen civics? Please clarify. So far all I know is that we can get an Acura EL's rear disc brakes and slap them onto our 7th gen civics without any trouble.

they're the same diameter, but im not sure about width... i dont think so though, if it was then why hasnt AEM tried shoving it down our throats by way of heavy marketing by now? hehe

if they were the same size though i'd probably rather just get an si brake conversion, its not as effective as an aftermarket rear disc setup, but its not like that'd make a significant difference anyhow, and it'd be quite a bit cheaper i'd think

Please let us know as soon as you have confiramtion on this, as well as all related part info. I want to do a rear disc conversion, not that I "need" it, just that I would want the look of it.

Ever look at a new RSX-R? They have pretty open wheels and 4 wheel disks. Sitting on the lot the brake caliper housings are all rusty loking. The disks are too. I'm sure the disks would shine up with driving, but I wonder why they didn't paint the caliper covers. They really look bad on such an otherwise sharp car.
