Q on DIY Led washers

I got a Civic Sedan DX and when I got under my steering wheel to put my power wires through the firewall I couldn't figure out how??? I see where you can pull the oval shape back but behind it is just metal. Am I looking in the wrong spot?? I dunno if it's a stupid question but I had no problem with clearing my headlights and right when I got this one started I got stuck. . . any suggestions??

the firewall has its opening to the right of the steering column. When you take the thing under your steering wheel off.. go up, in, and alittle to the right.. if all fails shine a light though it at night to see where it is.

I found the best place to put a switch for these. I have an EX coupe and the hole in the firewall is more towards the passenger side and the i just put a small hole in the plastic in between the factory fog light switch and the 12 volt supply. It worked out so great for me. I just have a switch that i flip up when i want them on and the switch lights up too.
