Exclamation Transmission letter lights

The lightbulb that lights up the letters on my transmission floor shift (P R N D D3 2) has blown out. I can't see the letters in the dark. Did anyone else have this happen, and if you did, does anyone have an idea on how to change the bulb step by step ? I own a 2001 Civic Si....thx

You need to remove the center console. 2 screws on the rear by the floor. 2 screws in the front on the sides(Driver/pass). The console should come out by manuevaring it out. The e brake has to be engaged I believe. There should be a wire going into the shifter. You twist it and pull it out. I tried to get the bulb out from the socket but couldn't get it out. If your lucky maybe the socket was just come loose and all you hve to do is put it back. good luck
