ok, so i just got my car a week ago, and my clutch catchs REALLY high, i brought it to honda and they told me that the clutch is fine, and they catch high out of factory. he also said that they cant be adjusted because they are hydrolic clutchs, how much of this is accually true?

they told me the same thing, when i took it in for some cv boot thing. when i got it back they said it catches like that normally (because i thought it was a little high) and they said that they cannot be adjusted. so maybe it is true. as long as it drives fine i wouldnt worry about it.

The clutch on my 04 doesn't catch until it's floored. I've missed soo many shifts cuz of that piece of fecal matter. Bottom line... the 7th gen clutches leave A LOT to be desired.

yeah, my 04 doesn't catch until it's almost to the floor. Way different than my 95 vic it replaced!!!

do you guys mean it catches like real low like you let off an inch and it catches? or what?

I mean the clutch doesn't fully engage until the pedal is too the floor. It makes for very, very slow shifts. I've had and driven numerous older vics and they've all had great stock clutches that caught quickly and engaged smoothly. Far superior to the poop pizza that's in our trannies.

yeah mine has to go to the floor to engage, but i have to bring it almost all the way up just so the car dont buck. like if you put the car in first gear and dont hit the gas, just lift the clutch slowly til the car starts moving, its almost at the top where the pedal sits normally, its a pain in the ***, cause i feel every shift. my probe was nice.

Many Hondas/Acuras are known to have the clutch pedal having a really high release point and our cars are no exception.

The part about the clutch being hydraulic and unable to adjust is accurate.

Every Honda I've driven does have a high release point, but engagement is usually quick. The older trannies shifted quickly and smoothly.

i dont have a manual but would a different clutch react differently(i.e. make u use the pedal alot less) or is this a pedal/hydraulic problem? Only manuals i have driven were a 98 talon and a 90 something acura legend. acura required the pedal to be down far...talon you barely had to touch the pedal.

different clutch designs act differently... every design has it's pros and cons.
