Exclamation HELP: Question about unit of some sort by gas tank

I dropped my gas tank today and noticed some lines from the top of the tank connecting to an oval shaped cylinder....like a sending unit or booster of some sort. Can anybody tell me what it is? It is on the rear side of the car right by the gas tank.

Thanks
Aaron

or it could be running to the fuel pump and sending unit. Just a guess.

part of the evap system if its what i think your talking about. should have some lines going to the tank and then a vent hose coming out and up then venting down around the back of the car.
