Currently I have a turbo D17; lately I have been getting hounded by people for not having a Catalytic converter. The last ting I want is a massive ticket for cat restrictions, but putting a cat back on would hurt my performance. I’ve heard that cats really put a damper on a turbo cars performance (i.e. Spool up time, total HP). So I was wondering what other people were doing and if they have a turbo civic with a cat how they felt about having it on (if so what brands, I was thinking of getting a Random Tech Cat).

Don't get the random tech cat, get a carsound / aka magnaflow cat instead. The random tech cat has a tendancy to crap out for the price (which is lilke $200). A properly sized maganflow cat is only like $50 on ebay...And will last a lot longer!
