PCV Replacement

I got a new pcv valve for my '01 civic ex, but I can not figure out where to put it. Can anyone help, a picture would be great.

if you look into your engine bay, it's on the right side, near the back of the block. you can see the pcv hose going into the intake manifold, the PCV valve is on the other end. a hard to reach area i'm at work, sorry for the lack of pics.

You'll probably want to get the car up in the air to get it out. It screws out of a black box underneith the intake manifold.

Thats a good question.. I know that when you shake it and it doesnt rattle, you need to replace it. However, thats not being very preventative maintenance savvy...

Manual says "At idle, make sure there is a clicking sound from the PCV valve when the hose between the PCV valve and intake manifold is lighlty pinched with your fingers or pliers." The maintenance schedules do not address the PCV valve...

I usually change it at 10,000 or 1 year. When you change your air filter, change your PCV.

it stands for Positive Crankcase Ventelation. it does exactly that, it lets exhaust fumes vent out of the head and burns it back up (to my understanding).

can also vent from the crankcase, where it would also have a breather tube from atop of the valve cover, which we have as well
