It's time to find out if the RSR EX-MAG truly fits a Sedan without modification to the OEM bumper or anything else. My car is cooling down now and I will begin the install as soon as the car is cool! I will update as soon as i can!

Wish me Luck!

It Fits! But let me stress, it BARELY fits! 1-1.5 mm of space between the tip and the bumper. When idling, the exhaust rattles against the bumper. I've got some pictures that I will post soon. I will take more pics in the morning ^_^

BTW the tip sticks out like a cannon lol Im sure a rear lip would take care of it though.

if you got only a mm or 2 of clearance of muffler tip to rear bumper, its gonna be hard fitting on a rear lip. im not sure if the rsr exhaust does this, but i know most aftermarket exhaust will move around and swing around when driving over harsher roads.

damn ... I was hoping it wouldn't fit so you could sell it to me lol

Well, after a lil ghetto rigging (zip ties, a drill, and some elbow grease) I was able to make about half an inch of clearance! ill get some pics of the ghetto rig in the mornin ^_~

Considering the new restrictions on resellers that RSR has placed, and the $100 increase on the suggested retail price, it would be rather difficult to get it for the price u want and still have a legit warrantee.

Instead of cutting the rear bumper, you could have gone to an Auto Parts store and purchased some hangers that were a little bigger. Cheap and easy.

I didn't cut the bumper, i drilled a small hole in the bumper and then used zip ties to hold it up lol ill have a pic of it very soon ^_^

Many of their products were being sold "grey market" by their official resellers, and thus RSR was loosing money. So to fix it, RSR cut off the offending resellers and made new restrictions on the sale of their products. At least this is what i have heard from many distributors.

Its called a MAP. Minimum advertised price. Alot of manufactureres require you to be at this price or you will be cut off from their dealer program.

that's a nice looking exhaust man. how loud is it?
Feb 10, 2005

From inside the car, you can hold a normal conversation during idle or cruising with this exhaust. At idle it is louder than my injen intake, and as the RPM's climb it matches the loudness of the intake. Again this is from inside the car.

Outside the car, idle has a beautiful deep tone that put even a smile on my fathers face lol. (he hates fart canons) As far as how it sounds WOT or cruising from outside the car, I couldn't tell you cause I have not been outside my car as it drives by.

Nice Strut Bar...

What does the shot of the whole rear look like though...
It looks like from the second pic in your last post that the rear bumper kinda swings up under the car... might just be the angle (i hope) ...
if that is the case i would definitly go get the longer supports.

^^^ If you click the pic, you will see a larger pic, this larger pic will include more than what you see here. ie clicking the pic in question will reveal a full bumper shot.

If you would like me to take the pic at another angle, let me know.

looks good. can u take a daytime shot of the rear from an angle? curious to see how far the tip is away from the rear bumper to see if its flush or little off.

thanks

Wow.. I own a 2003 ex coupe and was seriously considering buying the RS-R.. but not if it sticks out that far. I expected it to look more like this:

^^^ that pic is of a coupe, and on a coupe the exhaust wouldn't stick out at all. It only sticks out on the sedan. If you compare the two bumpers, the coupe's is rather flat, where as the sedan's curves back in towards the chassis.

Well I just looked at the specifications of the 2003 coupe and sedan and they are exactly the same length. Thats what i was going by.

Hey, thats a nifty set up...
But yeah.. from that angle your bumper rigging is REALLY noticable. What I'm saying is that if it is still noticable from standing height then you should definately un-do the bumper bending and lower the exhaust.

looks good though... good job
