you just need to remove you front tire, then remove the nut in the spindle nut, then undo the lower ball joint, then remove the 2 strut bolts so the knuckle will hang forward. Then tap the outboard cv joint threw the knuckle, then with a prybar, remove the inboard cv joint from the tranaxle, making sure not to damage the oil seal. Shouldnt be that to hard.

heres a easier way

remove tire

32mm take off spindal nute

take off crown nut on ur ball joint

pry it apart

pull on the tri pot do not pull after it or use a pry bar on the tri pot housing

AND PULL

on the spindal

take a punch and hammer and drive it out

that is pretty much the same thing I said. You can use a prybar on the inboard joint where it connects into the transaxle to pry it out, just making sure not to damage the oil seal.

Grab yourself a BFH, put the crown nut back on enough to cover most of the threads, and beat the hell out of it 5 or 10 times...the side of the hub that is. That will jar it loose from the hub.

well what would be the best way to remove that lower ball joint? I know when removing the outer tie rod from the steering arm, you can give the arm a few good wacks and the tie rod will loosen up to come out. I am assuming a special tool is needed for the ball joint on the control arm.

What do you mean you will need an alignment if you do it that way? Any time you remove it and then put it back in you will probably need an alignment. Unless you measure the exact area where you took it off and put it back on in the same area. You know what I mean. Usually the pickel fork will damage the boot.

for the lower ball joint I know there is a better tool.

Ok so i ended up taking the rotor and the brakes off to get the ball joint off, but i damaged the seal. Can i order a new seal from honda or can i get one from a local store? I used a "control arm seperator" and that still didnt work, so thats why i took the disk brakes off and the rotor.

I would loosen the spindle nut, before removing the tire. It makes things a little easier.

did you damage the oil seal in the transaxle, or the ball joint boot?
