Its not easy - this is a job for someone who has done something like this in the past....

If you aren't comfortable without having your car for a day or 2, take it to a professional. It took me 2 days to install my clifford....

I broke it down into ttwo parts: 1. install the alarm/RS/keyless unit
2. install the 555I, antitheft bypass

the tutorial is planned out. read all the diagram, i marked all the wires you need and not need and maybe needed for installation. if you have ?, just ask.

whats good about this tutorial is that you can pretty much get any DEI products. theres like 10 diff type of units made by DEI that have an exact diagram.

it shouldnt be complicated, ive tested every wires and ensure the right connection. there are pics of the locations on where to get those wires in ur civic.

all y'all have to do is make connections.

Clutch Bypass

plz do not ask me about tempoarily bypassing clutch when RS. the unit is made for automatic EFI.

i nor this site dont think either of us should encourage this kind of hazard...... just email if youre just so curious.

NEXT tutorial: ill try to write up a compustar 2wss-as for MTranny civics. this unit is safe for MT's.

I have an intelliguard 850....

The hardest part is splicing in all of the wires, especially the ignition kill, since they are so large. Other than that, routing the wires is the second hardest thing.

ill install the exact unit on a buddy's 01 prelude tomorrow.

some of the wire is kinda hard to read. the ignition is the easiest place to splice through, all the honda and acura have worked on the past are very similar in guage size and insulation size.

you prolly didint open the steering wheel shroud like i did to access to top end of the harness.

its all about find wires and connecting them together

here are some of the things you need to remember. these task takes practice and self torture when you first beginnin to install car alrm/RS this honda is quite simple compare to the others. as long as you read it several times and ask what you need to ask, anyone can DIY this.

Had one installed on the wifes Highlander. They came to my job and installed it in the parking lot. It took about 3-4 hrs. Best investment ever! Now my wife and kid won't freeze anymore waiting for the car to warm up.

The damn thing can start the car 1000 ft. away. Good when you are at the mall. By the way you still have to insert the key in the ignition and unlock the car with the remote (car stays locked while warming up). If you forget you started the car it will shut down by itself in15 to 20 min. It will also shut down when you press on the brake if the key is not in the ignition in case some a$$hole tries to jack your $hit.

All and all pretty good stuff I hope you enjoy yours.

yeah, keep it to the DIY section, i know someone will find it useful and save some money. best alarm DIY i couldve done. best thing about it is that DEI makes a whole bunch of variation brand but same diagram.

i thot it was very orginze of the DIY. i hope everything in there are well explained.

ask me specificly, like the wire on the civic or the alarm?

dont forget to click on the DEI diagram to know which wire is used in the install. theres a legend(key) at the bottom, the red mark is being used in the installation and the optional feature.

NOTE: i only use 1 of the optional feature wire. i used the blue/white -200mA status output. all the other ones are optional, just leave those alone. so this should be easy enough for all noobs.

-someone PMed me about trunk popper addon. you have to use the red/white -200mA channel 2 (-) to trigger the relay that came w/ the trunk popper (assmuning youre using the accord trunk popper). the tutorial do not cover this part.

NOTE: when youre attaching wires to the IGN harness, go to the harness like i showed on the pic (where i black taped) and splice the wire through there.

BTW, for first install, the outcome of the install doesnt have to be that nice like mine....lol.....but after you get everhint working you can go back and fix it to make the underdash look nice.
