breaking honda bond???

does any one know an easy way to break the bond to separate the tranny from the motor? thanks in advance

Yeah... there shouldn't be hondabond there. Even then, a tap with a mallet will usually do the trick. Use a wooden mallet, or a piece of wood so you don't mar the metal.

well one bolt i cant get off because the gear selector is in the way. it has that gray bond on it too, you think a mallet would really work?

use a universal on an impact to get that one. I have taken my tranny out 4 times this year. Universals are your friend.

well i got the bolt loose but it wont come out all the way cause of the gear selector so tomorrow im gonna try to move that i guess. other than that it should just come off fairly easy???

i was able to put the shifter into a gear and it was out of the way enough to get it unthreaded all of the way.

really? i move the shifter in and out of gear, its not in the way, its the metal housing near the bolt. the bolt hits it and its almost out. its frustrating cause i dont know if i should try to move/take off the shifter. i dont want to mess things up. arrg
