LX exhaust on an EX...questions

I posted this in the "other products and parts" forum but didnt get any response, so maybe it'll fare better here.

First of all, do I even need to worry? Are the EX and LX headers different? (size, that is, I know about the whole cat thing)

I bought a used Magnaflow exhaust from a guy with an LX, and it has the LX extension pipe welded on. So, to do it right, I need to take it to a shop, get them to un-weld it, and then go buy the small part from magnaflow to hook it up to my cat. and have them install that, since with the old weld it probably won't work right. $$$. I was wondering if there was an adapter piece so that I can hook my EX headers up to the downpipe on the exhaust, designed to hook up to LX headers (cat). I thought that a while ago the SF turbo kits could include a small little piece so that they worked on LX's too, so maybe one of those? Ive been away for a while, so I don't know of any new stuff. Just looking for ways to use an LX cat-back with my EX. THanks.

bradmanuwf will become famous soon enough
you can bolt an LX header onto and EX, but the manifold and downpipe bolt up in different places and at different angle. I bought a turbo kit made for an LX and I'm going to have the downpipe adjusted to my EX exhaust. Just take it to an exhaust shop and they can make it work.

ok. yeah, taking it to a shop is always an option, I was just wondering if there was some little piece I could buy to connect the EX header to the LX downpipe on the exhaust. Hopefully they don't charge me up the butt.

well, what I think Im going to have done will be pretty easy. The magnaflow is designed so that it fits and EX, but you can take off the end piece and clamp on a downpipe, and then it fits the LX. Im just going to have them cut off the downpipe and weld back on the connector piece that bolts up to the cat, like it would have been normally.
