Is it worth the money to buy and install an AEM sri or should I just wait and get something else? Am I risking ruining my motor faster with it?

stop foolin around with him man.......
the AEM SRI wont do much.... maybe slight gain at like 6000 RPM, in exchange you will lose power and torque at lower RPMs.
And umm, there isnt much else out there for the Civic unless you have a lot of $$ to spend. And no, the intake wont harm your engine.

just get something off ebay.. it will give you the same "gains"
you can always upgrade to a better filter.. but either way its a pipe with a few holes and hoses...

Well, no vtec for me so I guess as far as worrying about that, I don't need to. Now how much does it rob from the low end? Will she still get up and go off the line?

Well I guess i'm not really that worried about off the line. I'm more into high end power anyway. Will it affect my gas mileage in anyway? I would assume so seeing as how more fuel will have to be crammed in to keep the A/F ratio correct.

best SRI IMO is injen good gains trew the middle of the power band. not to mention a good tone as well.
i have the AEM SRI and it takes nothing off the low end, its all in your head, winter air wont hurt at all, and AEM is loud but not ricey, i hate rice. If your gonna do somethin to your car do it right the first time. But opinions are like *** holes, everyone has them and thy're all sh!tty.
I got an AEM SRI for a little over a year now. The biggest increase was in sound. I did get an increase probably around 5000 rpm but other then that i couldve spend $115 elsewhere. Hearing you guys rip me apart on some mods will probably help me make better decisions.

You wont have any risk of hyrdo-locking with a SRI. You might gain a couple of ponies but not much. The biggest thing you'll notice is more throttle response. You might use a little more gas because people tend to hit the gas more so they can hear the rumble of the intake but thats about it. Oh yeah, dont buy an ebay intake. Those things are hit or miss. I bought one of those one time. One bracket broke and the other didnt even line up right. I ended up throwing it in the trash. lol

OK guys I need you to do me a favor, list what year and trim level 7th gen you have. I think I may have figured out why some of you are losing low end power.
