Cold Air Intake DIY
I just had an idea I am testing out this weekend. I bought a cheap intake off ebay for like $25.00. Here is the best part they had shipping errors and I had to wait two weeks but eventually 2 intakes showed up at the door so I can test out one and still have a spare.....
I took one set of pipes and reinforced the brackets with some fiberglass. (People complained of the brackets breaking off). I then used some undercoating spray from autozone to put two thick coats on the pipes. After that I spray painted them black to match the engine bay. I am going to install them tomorrow. I am thinking that the pipes with the fiberglass and undercoating spray with heat resistant paint will keep the intake air alot cooler versus just the piping.
We shall see.......
