haha, I guess I am really lucky I have done that twice. The first time I was not thinking and downshifted from 3rd to second doing around 70 scared the hell out of me. The second time was just the other day and I went to shift from 5th to 4th while argueing with my gf and hit 2nd. My car seems to be running ok how can you tell if you have messed up your valves??? both times I hit the clutch fast and was only at around 8k for a second

Okay, I can understand missing the gears and hitting the wrong gears, but why are you people in 3rd gear driving at 70 mph ????????
Everyone here said something similiar... Is this normal driving for you guys ??
Your driving around $15,000-$18,000 (Sometimes More!) you shouldn't beat the heck out of your Car.
I don't want to seam like the old grumpy guy yelling "GET OFF MY GRASS YA PUNKS" but seriously your going bring an endless amount of repairs on yourselves.

Sorry for the lecture I'm Done.

In otherwords your engine is ****ed.
The valve springs don't have enough force to close the valvetrain quick enough at that speed.
Honda is going to scan your computer, figure out pretty quickly it threw an over-rev code, then charge you to rebuild the motor.
its called valve float... your valves essentially never close because they are going so fast that the springs are powerful enough to bring them back up and when its close they open again... the valve also bounces off the seat and this ****s ya up\

there was an integra type r in my dads shop for this... we had to rebuild the engine but if your lucky you just gotta replace valves probably pistons
