intake silencer

yo ppl.... i was wonderin... in have a 04 civic ex and if i remove the intake silencer on my car will i lose power or torque or will i gain some... if its i will lose and yet will gain like in diffrent rpm ranges than tell me and yeah.. does anyone know if any spoon air fliter will fit a the 2001+ airboxes.. if u do tell me..
