Intake Manifolds
Intake Manifolds
Ok, here's the question, hopefully someone can help me out. I know all about 4th gen motors, but my fiancee's 7th gen hatch has me stumbled... Most of the engines in that car (D16 i guess) have the long metal intake manifold... But hers has a stupid dumpy plastic air box instead.. Can someone tell me why? And what the proper air intake for it is? Thanks for your help!
If the exhaust is at front and intake at back of engine, it is an EP2 with D16V1 most likely. Same engine layout and some shared parts with D17**.
I have Green Filter induction kit on mine but many induction kits from D17** will fit.
This forum has loads of info that is relevant and my site www.civic-ep2.co.uk has some more.
Note look at VIN number at bottom of windscreen and see if it has EP1, EP2 or EP3 (3door models) otr maybe EU5, EU6, EU7 or EU8 (5door models).
Cheers

It's much harder for heat to conduct from the head to the intake manifold since it's plastic. Unfortunately, coolant running through the TB makes it super hot and heats the air anyway.
