Headlight problem
I have a Honda Civic, I think its year is 1991 or 1992 and the previous owner before me put in those blue tinted headlights. The other day my lights started blinking and now they dont work at all. My dad took off my steering column and there is a plastic piece that looks like it is melted. A bunch of wires go into it. I dont really want to spend the money unless i have to to get it fixed. Is this something I can get my dad to fix if he has instructions or do I have to go to a garage? Please help me if you can. I am totally clueless about cars and would rather save my money for spring break. Thanks!

I don't get what you're saying. If it's just the light bulbs that are causing a short get rid of them. If it's the wiring that needs redone. Get a manual for your vehicle and rewire them from the fusebox... it wont take a long time. Before you start messing with everything check if the lines have current. If they're working no need for extra work.
I dont understand. I know that it has nothing to do with the bulbs being broke or anything. I tried to replace them. It has to be the wiring or something like that. I don't know how to rewire the whole thing. Will it say it in the instruction manual?? Is it hard to rewire?
How do I know if the lines are current? They look clean and everything. They are just melted to that little plastic box in my steering column. Would that be it? If so, what do I do? Im so sorry to trouble you.

Replace whatever is melted and use stock bulbs.
Unless the melted piece was recalled for that reason, it probably melted becuase you were drawing too much power through there causing it to get hot and eventually melt.
Don't worry about the individual wires, just replace what the stuff that is actually bad

Its probably a bad multi-function switch in the column. I had the same problem with an 90 Accord, smoke came out of the steering column when it huffed. The dealer had 3 of them on the shelf (common problem) but no recall. Its not real hard to change but you had to pull the wheel and drop the column down. If you dont have tools and a good mechanical aptitude I wouldnt try it.
