VAFC II install

okay.. before u get mad at me and say search and yadyada.. i did all that and found some weird things and makes me wonder...

for one if i follow the manual i might be safe cause its the manual right..??

but i found to DIY on these forums in the tech section.. strange??

one of the DIY says to buy a diode from radio shack and wire it to the pink vtec wire.. is that correct??

but get this.. the second DIY
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=155261
says to use 2.. i said 2 diodes.. why 2 for this setup and 1 for the other????

someone tell me cause i have an apexi box here waiting for an install but awaiting proper installation

WHAT are you talking about! You don't even have that unit. Omg, you're gonna blow up your car. You have a VAFCII II. Not vafcI. Find the wire diagram that carbonfly stickied in tech and then find the color codes and splices in the manual.

The first vafc does not work on our cars. The check engine light comes on. The second vafcII works just fine. All you do is splice into the ecu wires. That's it.

You can check http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...catdisplay.jsp to see if the gaskets are the same part #.

The vafcI DOES NOT work on 01-04 civics. Check engine light comes on, and you can't rev past 4k rpms.

there is no vafc2 diy the one you are looking at is for vafc1.
follow the instructions for the vafc2 the only thing you need to know is the vtm wire. this can be found on carbonfly's thread. NO doide or anything else wierd.

vafcII works by simply connecting the wires. I have it, and I did it, and it works.

who said that a diode fixes a cel on vafc2??? There is no fix needed for vafc2 it works.

Look..... all you need to know is vafc2 WORKS with no problems just hook up the vtm wire.
vafc <--- the first version DOES NOT WORK!!!! on the 7th gen civic.
if you can not understand this than you are beyond help.

look now.. i already have a vafc2 installed cause i did it when i did the mini-me.... as for the diode, now go and read the DIY here
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=155261
which states u need a diode.. theres 2 different DIY that say u need a diode.. i could care less about the diode cause mines runs fine.. im just saying if people are gonna be posting flase DIY that dont need to be then it should be corrected for other people
