Post Need help on Booty Call thingy

Hey, people. I'm kinda a nub in electrical stuff, especially running things into the interior. I had a radio shack gift card, which I ended up using on a powerhorn, switch, 30 amp fuse and some wiring...

I understand the basics of Power-horn-fuse-switch-ground, but I need help on mounting the horn and running the wires into the center console [I want the switch right above the cupholders in those little pop-out panels]. Some detailed help would be greatly appreciated.

Run the wires through the firewall through the hole above the brake pedal. If there isn't one, you may have to drill. The siren can be mounted across the header on the frame above the radiator.

i didnt use a fuse for mine. i just hooked the power wire straight to the positive terminal on the battery and grounded the wire on a metal nut under the hood (been this way for over a year and no problems). ran the wires through the firewall and mounted my switch right where you want yours in 1 of those pop out panels. you got a push button momentary switch right?

^ yeah, I have a momentary switch.

My siren is actually a powerhorn from Radio Shack [pretty big]. I was thinking about mounting it on the frame, near where the air filter would be on a cai. Would that be okay?

gearbox-- I run them through the firewall and now the wires are inside, but how do I get them into that little panel thingy? Do i have to remove the center console?

The cig lighter piece just pulls out. You can use a screwdrivier, but be careful not to scratch the plastic too much. Wires can be run under the fuse panels that just turn off with those two twist things.

Is that powerhorn gonna work for booty call? I thought it has to be those alarm sirens.

I'll have to find out first if the horn will work, so I dunno yet.

Thanks, though.

So I run wiring from the positive of the battery [or how about the cig liter?] to the powerhorn, to switch/fuse, to ground somewhere... right?

joski will become famous soon enough
Yea that's how I have it.. From my positive, through the engine bay and through the firewall with the blue (I think) wire running through it, to my momentary switch, back through the hole, across the engine bay, to my fuse, to a ground.
I THINK that's it!

I have it... from the positive terminal... to a fuse less than 12" from the battery, down into the passenger side firewall, across the floor behind the console inside, up to a momentary switch, back down to the firewall again, out to the engine bay, to where the cold air intake is, then powering the horn, which is grounded somewhere on that metal plate where the CAI would sit.

If you want, you can even have two horns and toggle between the two depending on your mood.. That's how I have mine.

Thanks, everyone, but, like all my other mods for some reason, this mission's first attempt is aborted.

The powerhorn I got works only for a PA; I thought I could make it somehow screech or something, but nope.

you can drill a hole somewhere and screw it in, zip tie it, use adhesive, etc... all the ones i've seen have a mounting base on it which has two holes for screws. you can also mount it whereever, i put mine close to the firewall on the drivers side just cuz the wire wasnt that long.
