DIY for removing stock pedals off 5 speed:
1) grab stock rubber pedals
2) peel them off
3) add new pedals

I just installed some Nokya brushed aluminum/chrome billet pedal covers over my stock pedals. They're good quality and they look good.

thanks guys. do you think there was a reason honda did this? also i was thinkin, the 7th generation hondas are in the middle of the customization trend with hondas, why dont you think honda made it easier to customize our cars?

When you take into account that out of the several hundred thousand civics sold each year, only a small percentage(1-5%) of people are customizing them. Most people who own civics would say "the car already has pedals - why would I want to spend money replacing something that works perfectly fine and will last the life of the car." Majority of civic owners are concerned with spending as little as possible on transportation. Since this is the case, I don't think Honda would invest in a more customizable civic since their core customer base($$$) could care less.

are bought to be reliable, economical transportation.

I think that all the pedals in modern cars aren't removable. Think it has to do with safety. The brake pedal is actually one of the strongest part of a car.
