HELP!! Problem with revo ss (b4 installing)
i noticed this right before i start installing revo ss.
im not sure if i can explain this properly but i will do my best.
i attach some pics so its more understandable.
first what i noticed is about that "something like spring pins" located
on the left of the shifter stick. it makes the shifter to come back to the
center when the shifter is forced to left/right.
now look at the pics.
problem happens when i force the stick to the right.
pic #1 is when the pin is in the correct position. (that lower gap which stops the spring pin is about 1.7x larger than its supposed to be. so the correct
position is when the pin is on the left of the gap.)
but when i force the shifter to the right, sprign pin moves.
now look at pic #2/#3
yeh it moves to the right of that lower gap as there is an excessive space.
so as the result, as the shifter comes back to the center, pic #4 happens.
since the pin moved to the right, the upper gap and the pin are INCORRECTLY
lined up. and actually, as u can see in the pic, upper gap piece blocks the pin
on the way coming back.
i dont kno if its just mine or others have same problem
but i havent seen anyone complaining this.
so i was wondering if theres a nice way to avoid this.
i've thought about putting something in that lower gap so that the spring pin
can't move to the right, but i couldnt think of any material for it.
and i also heard that the oem spring works better than the one already
seating in revo ss assembly.
so i would be happy to check that fact out, wondering if swaping oem spring
into revo ss assembly would fix this problem.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
and this is kinda off topic, but im just curious.
if u see the pics that i uploaded, the assembly itself looks really dirty.
i havent installed the ss and it was like that when i first got it.
it never looked new. it looks like used or something.
the seller said its normal for revo ss, but i kinda doubt it.
the color of the plastic is not as clean white as its shown on revotechnica.com
and by just looking at it, it doesnt really look shorter than stock one.
i dont kno since i havent installed it tho.
well, i hope theres someone who really understand or experienced this problem
im so disappointed even b4 the installing. i might be so happy when i get it work since everyone who has revo ss seems love it.

That's more than I had, but I had similar issues with my old Revo. My problem was that both entire spring ends didn't point 90degrees like stock, so they wouldn't fit into both the lower and upper guides easily. Hard to explain, and I don't have it anymore, but basically the spring wasn't pointing straight up, so it wouldn't easilly slide into both of the plastic grooves. I had to take a file and open the upper guide so it would slide in easier, and I did more of a flat groove on the lower "stop." After that, it worked great! Good luck.
i sent an email to whom(company) i got this from.
hope they give me an answer or replace it with newer one.
but i dont think they will resend it cuz its been so long since i bought it.
it was just seating in my room for so long.
really wish they exchange it for me tho
