whats the performance increase when adding a cold air intake?

whats the performance increase when adding a cold air intake?
obviously it depends on the CAI...lets say for arguments sake, an AEM, CAI, since they seem to be one of the more popular brands

does it increase hp? if so, by how much? what difference in performance does a CAI generally give?

Honestly, it will add maybe 1-3HP. wont do much for our cars. I have the injen cold air and it is good for sound. maybe a bit increase in power.
