Headers...it's a standoff.

I've searched and I've read for a couple hours now.

Seems to me there is a choice to be made between which headers to get. I'm looking for the best performance header, and looks is not an issue. The three headers I'm looking at are:

Kamikaze
HP
Mugen.

I'm looking for good opinions. Don't post here if all you can say is "(blank) header is the best becuase I have it and I love it".

I would like numbers and actual comparisions. For example if you dynoed or if you tried out a couple of these headers then I would like to hear from you.

Thx in advance.

If you have LX go with kamikaze, if you have ex it's a toss up. I am sure someone will get on here and say they love their dc and blah blah blah. Don't listen to them DC is starting to become a crap company. Their tcs exhuast, headers, and front up strut bar are terrible. TCS leaks, headers are tiny in diameter, and strut bar is 5 peices.

there's only one header for our car...

imo, kamikaze's the best because it has larger runners for more flow...but that's just me.

Can you back up that statement about the TCS leaking? I've had one on my car for 2 years now and I haven't had a bit of a problem with it. Still sounds as good as the day I got it. Looks, on the other hand, are a different story.

Exactly. Bigger isn't always better when it comes to performance. PERIOD!

DC are designed to give more mid range extraction than high end. Hence, why I gained 9.8 LBS/FT of TQ with them, a 5 Zigen Cat-back & Injen SRI last year. The larger runners lead to less response time & more high end efficiency. If your looking for top end, go Kamikaze. DC is great for mid range power. Anyone who has them can vouch for the noticeable power increase at 3K RPMS.

Not only that, if you have the larger runners and let off the gas...the exhaust gasses have much more room to circle back into the combustion chambers due to lack of restriction. This is a

well i do like my dc header. it is a nice piece, but the tcs is crap. i had one bracket break and one of the rivets on the badge leaked as well as one of the welds on my last muffler. dc replaced no questions asked. the new which i have had for a bout 2 years now seems to have started buzzing when it idles. i am no getting the tanabe racing medalion soon. the header is GOOD imo.

NOT all the same. Since when did Mugen make headers for our cars?

Kamikaze headers have bigger runners than the others

It might have been possible if he's got an EP3 or DC5, but I don't know if Mugen is making an exhaust manifold for those cars. I pretty sure they would, but I don't have one, so I haven't kept up with it.
