APC is the worst parts company. No quality at all. And I don't like K&N cause their filters don't work as well as paper mesh. Keep your stock intake.

But yet, most people do 'think and feel' that there is any gain with an aftermarket intake which can justify the cost of buying one.
I vote for OEM v.07

You really should research this yourself. But there's alot of info in the thread I posted. Paper filters are the best--period. It's true that K&N might flow slightly more air, but that's because it's not filtering as well. Get the napa gold paper filter to go with the stock intake. Best setup imo, and I've tried two different intakes.

That is why I change my oil every 3,000 miles with synthetic oil...I have used K and N for 5 years now, no problems...as long as you keep your oil clean, you should have no problems, and yes, you will still have to clean your throttle body...

...wtf are u talkin about, this is an intake post not synthetic oil!!!The dirt that gets sucked into the engine can be absorbed by oil. Why do you think oil gets so dirty? Clean oil means a clean engine. The longer you can keep your oil clean, the better the filters are working.
Now here is the connection. If a filter from an intake flows more air, at the cost of the amount of dirt it can filter, then you have the possibility of flowing a lot more dirt into the engine. Like i said above, the oil can absorb some, if not most, of the dirt that enters the engine somewhere. Therefore, if you change your oil more oftern, then you're taking the dirt out more often as well.
With all modifications, there are some sacrifices that must be made. More power at the cost of fuel economy. Better sound system at the cost of weight. etc. etc.
sry about the last reply...i didnt read the article that gearbox posted...neways now all i want to know is if there is anything better than a regular stock paper air filter and or a napa gold air filter(wut is the best thing i should use for my car).
lol, thanks but i have read a lot of your posts on intakes for an hour and found this one to be interesting.======"Okay everyone. Problem solved for fipk users. I found a purolator conical paper filter that fits almost exactly. It was blue, so I had to paint it black with high temp engine paint. I did not use the adaptor for the fipk because the new filter slipped right onto the tube. It also has a rubber surround in the back that almost perfectly fits in the heat shield hole. Day pics coming soon cause it got too dark!
Oh and get this...the new paper filter has twice as many pleats as the K&N = more surface area. The fipk also got alot louder with the paper filter. So far so good.
Purolator OWNS K&N!"
Does the one intake that you made work any better than a stock intake...

I really am sick of aftermarket parts. I've wasted so much money on parts that give tiny hp gains and usually cause even more problems. Stay away from all of it! Honda actually spent years researching the car, and they know how to do it.

You know the stock intake actually works better than any other aftermarket brand I've tried. The rpms rev up noticably faster, and there is no air noise. Low and midrange has alot more punch due to the airbox acting like a reservoir for air storage.
