A/C Whistling

I just noticed this in my car.
When using the A/C, once in awhile I'll hear a low whistle. Has anyone else heard that? Can anyone determine what causes it? Belt maybe?

I have 97,600+ miles on my car, I need to get my 100K checkup.

Well it could be dirty cabin filters, or just that the A/C is breaking down. The R134A will eventually eat through the coolant lines. Another possibility is electrical noise, caused when the AC turns on the radiator fans.

It freaked me out the 1st time I heard it.. I had to shut off my system to see if I can make it out. It almost as if the sound is comiung from the vents, but I can't quite figure it out. I hardly ever use my A/C too, so I'm like WTFY!

If it sounds like it's from the vents, your filters may be clogged. How long since you changed them? I clean mine out every 10k cause it fills with dust and leaves.

imo its normal. i have like a whistle too almost like a whine when its on.. and from what i can tell its the compressor just being on. i also have 80k+ on my car. I have had that noise for as long as i can remember.
no problems here though.
as long as the a/c works and everything else seems fine.. id just let it slide....
you obviously use the a/c as much as myself, so u know the windows down is just better ne way
