Unhappy Need help with HKS exhaust.

Ok.... So i bought the HKS Hi Power axel back exhaust. I drove around for a few months with it and i was never really satisfied. I sounded pretty much like nothing and my brother never even noticed a sound change although i thought it was a little louder then stock. So one day i got bored and hacked the resonator right before the axel back and welded a straight pipe in its place.

Now after having it for a few weeks and getting ticketed for loud exhaust violation (which i fought in court and won) its just too loud and annoying I don't care what anyone says bout chopping the resonator and it not being to loud because it really is. Now does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? I realize it was a stupid error but i learned from my mistakes.

I want to just replace the whole midpipe with 2 1/4 piping and just weld some universal resonator in its place. Anyone have any personal experiences or suggestions of what type of resonator and prices from a local muffler shop? I race at the track every week so any performance suggestions and gains are important to me... Thanks for any imput
