Anyone ever reuse the OEM shift boot?

Just wondering...

I want to get rid of my blue boot cuz it doesn't go with my current interior plans.

Has anyone ever put the OEM boot back in and if so does it look alright. I'm pretty sure the staples were just an added touch but you never know. I didn't rip it when I took it out at all so in theory I guess it should be fine.

Anyone?

Staples are unnecessary. Put all the tabs in their respective places in the base, then snap the silver trim ring back on, that holds the boot in place. The staples were probably just for assembly, or a little extra insurance. If it bugs you, hot glue the tabs to the where the staples were.

Thanks guys...This ^^ was basically what I found when I did it tonight. I thought the OEM boot was gonna be too flimsy and **** but it went back on fine and looks pretty good. Don't know why I ever changed it but anyway.

Thanks all.
